In 2002, years after the 1971 death of Jim Morrison and the initial dissolution of the Doors a year later, keyboard player Ray Manzarek and guitarist Robby Krieger formed a group they called the Doors of the 21st Century, with the Cult's Ian Astbury as frontman. A year later, Doors drummer John Densmore (left), who did not participate in the reunion, successfully sued the reconstituted band from using the Doors name.

JD was always a bit of an ass hole, but never, never say he was not talented, or that he did nothing to write the music. As it was, the music wrote itself from a dream, and all had a hand in the music, and the lyrics. Listen to the licks Robbie introduced, the keyboard riffs of Ray, and yes, pay attention to the percussion...John was much more than a drummer....but like I said, his bitching about Ray and Robbie using the "Doors" as the name of their tribute band is pretty low-handed from a guy who once voted to sell "Light My Fire" to GM for a Buick advertisment........Hahaha, hohoho,heeheehee....

What I can't understand is how on earth, having been a part of one of the greatest bands to ever grace the airwaves, you can have a vendictive spirit towards the people who helped you achieve your dreams. Mr. Densmore, you were a part of rock history and made some of the most poignant music ever recorded...
BE SATISFIED.
What do you do when you are the least talented, most easily replaceable member of a band for wich you wrote none of the music? If you're John Densmore you sue to try and get money you didn't earn.It wasn't the name he cared about, he wanted some cash, what an absolute loser!
