Ani DiFranco and Lifetime were about as inevitable a pairing as Ted Nugent and the Outdoor Living Network. The prolilfic indie music queen has penned the theme song for the estrogen-leaning television network's new series, 'State of Mind,' starring indie acting queen Lili Taylor as a therapist who's a little under-therapized herself. The show, which airs Sunday nights at 9 pm ET, debuted the tune during Episode Two, after prominently featuring the Grammy-winning singer-songwriter's lamenting 'Sorry I Am' -- from 1995's 'Not a Pretty Girl' -- in Episode One. The effort is one of DiFranco's several musical returns this year, after giving birth to her first child, daughter Petah Lucia, in January. Fans will get a twofer on Sept. 11, when DiFranco releases a book of original poetry and paintings titled 'Verses,' as well as 'Canon,' a double-disc retrospective featuring 36 songs from her decade-and-a-half long career. Pre-orders for both have begun at the Righteous Babe Web site.
