'With Arms Outstretched,' Rilo Kiley

'With Arms Outstretched' is purely and simply inviting. The opening line, "It's 16 miles to the promised land/and I promise you I'm doing the best I can," hits me in the right place every time. Everyone has one song that calms them down, amps them up, brings forth focus or any other purpose one could conjure. 'With Arms Outstretched,' however, mellows me out and briefly takes me out of my present reality. Cheers to much-needed breaks.
