Video Premiere: Elvis and Lisa Marie Presley's 'In the Ghetto'

To commemorate the 30th anniversary of her father's death, Lisa Marie Presley not only decided to sing, but to sing with him. "I wanted to use this for something good," she tells Spinner of her posthumous 'In the Ghetto' duet with Elvis Presley. "All fingers pointed towards New Orleans." She filmed the video in the hurricane-ravaged city, and all proceeds from the video and single will benefit a new Presley Place transitional housing campus there.

Well, it's finally nice to hear someone such as Lisa to speak the way we were raised. Where are all girls morals today and the common life to level ground.

Thanks, Lisa Marie & Spinner, for this great video world premiere.
No doubt this is the very best and strongest version of Elvis' 1969 hit ever made.
Hope sales of this mix through iTunes for the benefit of the (forgotten ?) victims of New Orleans will be tremendous.

It's awesome. Brought tears to my eyes. First seeing the "two" together, and second, because the song has always brought tears to my eyes, even back in the 70's when I would hear it.

awesomemundo go elvis and go lisa marie. it was great he done this song in the 1969 american recording studio in his hometown of memphis. this was a message song its not just about blacks, whites its about all poor people because thats how he grew up he grew up with poor blacks and whites and native americans he lived the song and watched many people fall to poverty. especially in the development for poor people when he 1st moved to memphis when he was 13. another great song that tells who elvis really is is if i can dream everyone listen to that and look around the world today

Sorry Lisa, you just don't have your daddy's talent. Don't think I will purchase your recordings.

    Hey Sue,
She doesn't claim to have her fathers talent in fact she knows she doesn't that is why it was so hard for her to do this video and if you are that selfish of a person don't buy the song. This charity doesn't need people like you.

Elvis was and is the "King" of rock and roll. I saw him in concert and also in person in Memphis when I lived there. He was and is the greatest singer of his time and after. He had so much feeling in every word, there will never be another like him (maybe his daughter) or her children will carry on his legacy. Priscilla has done a great job. Elvis picked the right lady to marry. I was in Mississippi when I heard he had died. I still can't get over it. Elvis forever!!!Cheryl

    this video sucks,
why didnt they keep with just the first baby, morph him into a young man as the song predicts, then end it with a headstone or something indicating his demise and go with the flow of the song?
if Lisa wants to make money from her dad's memory, she should just stick to graceland, and stop selling off her father's memory

    Hey Larry,
If you paid attention she is not making money for her self personally, this is for charity and if you really paid attention she had been asked for years to do a song with her father and said no but she felt this was for a good cause. So before you get all huffy GET THE FACTS...!!!

Lisa Marie don't let anybody tell you other wise. God has really blessed you with a beautiful voice. I loved the video. I would purchase the song at any time and also your CD's. I love your dad's music. I was seven when he died but his music and legacy will live forever.

Great job Lisa - and an excellent song choice. I commend you for all your charitable work - and social conscience. How about doing a few more with your father for charity. More importantly - get into the studio - and do a few for yourself, you have a very inspiring voice. I saw your interview on GMA - must say, I wish you would smile more often - you seem so sad at times - but your smile and laugh is so adorable - lets see more of it. I wish you peace and happiness.

Lisa! how great is this duet..I can't stand anyone to hear singin with Elvis, but you..not because you are the daughter, it's because you do feel what you sing just like he did, you both have the most deep and sincere soul that gives a real life to songs..carry on girl..and thank you very much for doing this..

seen the video and loved the way the song was done as far as anyone else not liking the way it was done should not call themselves TRUE Elvis fans. Keep it up Lisa Marie. Hopefully the single will be available in stores to purchase for fans that cannot get access to the internet or itunes. Look forward to more duets together.

We all have to remember that just because she is the daughter of Elvis Presley, comparing Lisa's talent to her father's is unfair. She is on a journey in discovering her own voice to which can be heard solely without expectations.I felt Lisa performed well in this video and was pleased to hear the soulful part of her voice. I would like to see her connect more with her emotions and allow them to bring forth the voice she keeps locked up inside her.Caged animals need to be freed.
