Into The Wild is an amazing film....and was an amazing book (story) I love the soundtrack..mainly because it is the music of my adolescence and also was a very special time in America. I think Eddie Vedder certainly captured the music and brought a new audience to some otherwise forgotten songs. I just wish that the original artists would get the recognition that they so deserve...after all they were the ones that wrote and performed the music first. Where are they now? Why not commission them to record the soundtrack? Just questions....things to ponder.......

this album is great which never came as a surprise, Eddie Vedder's style is perfect in the matching of style with the movie by sean penn. Eddie vedder is a Grunge rock God and on his very own level. Never to be mentioned in the same sentence as "Bon Jovi."

Not only is Vedder better than Bon Jovi, but he is far less pretentious. It's not Vedder Jam.

It does not sound like wanted dead or alive... it really upsets me that you said that.

Don't compare Vedder to John Bon Jovi? Ya, you're right. John Bon Jovi writes his own songs. He doesn't need to do covers.

absolute gold . eddie's voice sparks something from inside . he is the only man i would turn gay for !!!

Show some (self)-respect. Eddie Vedder is truly the man upstairs, heīs touching your deepest inner self with his voice his sound and lyrics - Bon Jovi canīt, and will never be able of that - itīs simple, he has never traveled through "the other side" in the same way as Mr. Vedder.
Peace - and stop that war!

Great tune, great flick, just a total combination of culture, style and recreation of one mans journey. The soundtrack fits the movie like a glove. Pass it on!!!

Does anyone else think this sounds like "Wanted Dead or Alive" by Bon Jovi?

It DOES sound reminscent of Bon Jovi's "Wanted Dead Or Alive" but this sounds much better. Sorry but Eddie is not god & not exempt from recycling stuff he heard when he was growing up. I like Eddie & Pearl Jam but he's just a normal guy like anyone else.

This song is a cover of Big Hard Sun by Gordon Peterson :-P
Anyway, Ed is always great :-)

Thank god for music like this. I cannot stop listening to it. A true feel good song. Thanks eddie! And no it does not sound at all like Bon Jovi's dead or alive. That guy needs a hearing aid.

WHOOOOOOAAAAA!! Eddie NEVER quits does he? this song is in my heart. thank you God for his talent!! my new favorite song!
Gavat 8-21-2007
I wonder if the original Gordon Peterson version also sounded like Wanted Dead or Alive? Its great that someone like Eddie is giving talents like Bon Jovi & Sambora their due with a little nod of appreciation.
