Amy Winehouse Ditches Rehab for a Second Time
- Posted on Aug 21st 2007 12:30PM by Gaylord Fields
It's not as if she didn't warn us a million times in her ubiquitous song, but Amy Winehouse's recent rehab shenanigans are placing her somewhere else she'd probably rather not be -- in the tabloids on the same footing as Britney and Lindsay. In mid-August, the 23-year-old Brit soul singer checked in to The Causeway rehabilitation clinic in the U.K. with her newlywed husband, Blake Fielder-Civil, days after being admitted to a hospital for "exhaustion" -- the same condition that has afflicted the hard-partying likes of Lohan, et al. Having bolted from the clinic once during their stay, Winehouse and hubby have now walked out a second time, on August 19, according to British newspaper The Sun. The reason given is that the woman who wrote the song 'You Know I'm No Good' about the man she would come to marry has been carrying on screaming matches with him during their brief stay at The Causeway to combat their substance abuse problems.Winehouse's second album, the critically lauded 'Back to Black,' just went platinum in the U.S., which has undoubtedly added to the heaps of pressure on the young singer, who has also struggled with an eating disorder to go with her well-documented alcohol and drug abuse. No stranger to conflict, as any listener to her music could attest, she has admitted to being torn by a desire to settle down with Fielder-Civil and start a family. As Winehouse recently said in her Rolling Stone cover story, "I know I'm talented, but I wasn't put here to sing. I was put here to be a wife and a mom and look after my family. I love what I do, but it's not where it begins and ends."

Amy is great!!! How xmany stars went to rehab? A LOT! How many wrote a great, insightful and humorous song about it?? ONLY AMY !! Everybodies got problems, most of us don't have paparrazi sneaking around to put it in the media. Hopefully, Amy will get a grip on her fame and herself and have a long and succesful career as a singer and a wife and mother. If you listen to her songs its clear that's really what she wants. Most of us have a hard time really doing our best. For those who just love to point out the shortcomings of others... Abe Lincoln said, "I've generally found that those who possess few vices also possess few virtues."

Shes an amazing singer, maybe if you stop listening to screaming and people speaking into a mic infront of a beat, you would know that. Amy has her own style, her own look (which should be improved haha), and she is just another junkie rock star, yet we still love all the other good ones. I completely agree with fffreknameholly. They put it quite well.

I had never heard of her before you spewed her wretched story in my face. Thanks for that.
Stop dissin' on po' ol' Amy. She's da
BOOM-SHAKA-LAKA. It's all hype anyways...chill ppl. Don't believe everything ya read and half of what ya see.
Amy is an amazing talent. Creative people, especially at a young age, tend to get them selves in trouble. They sing and write great music because most times their living exactly what their singing about. Tough to make the separation sometimes. It's what's killed many a talented person. Hope she sorts it out. As a singer she's in a class way above Britany, although I wish Britany would get a handle on herself as well.

I say at least she tried its hard to break a habbit that you get use to and i know i use to smoke it took be along time to realize that it was the grossest thing in the world but i realized it on my own. So what we really need to do is sit back and look at the people around us instead of judging maybe we should try to help that is what is wrong with us today we always judge instead of put a helping hand out there and reach people and treat people the way you would want to be treated. I know im not going to judge them i would rather help.
