Queen Latifah is a woman of many crowns: Grammy-winning rapper, Ocscar-nominated actress and celebrity spokesperson, among them. The hip-hop icon is adding yet another: jazz diva. To that end, Latifah -- born Dana Owens -- will launch a U.S. tour in support of her Sept. 25-due jazz album, 'Trav'lin' Light,' on Sept. 29 in Dallas, Texas. The hefty 34-date jaunt wraps just before Thanksgiving on Nov. 20, in Palm Desert, Calif.'Trav'lin' Light' -- the followup to 2004's Grammy-nominated 'The Dana Owens Album' -- finds the Queen offering up her sultry take on classic tunes and hidden gems by jazz legends including Etta James, Nina Simone and Sarah Vaughn, among others. The effort also boasts collaborations with piano masters George Duke and Joe Sample, bossa nova guitarist Oscar Castro-Neves and Stevie Wonder, who contributes harmonica on one track.
