Format Singer Stops Show After Audience Brouhaha
- Posted on Aug 24th 2007 1:00PM by Nadine Cheung
Format lead singer Nate Ruess unexpectedly halted the band's Wednesday night show at the Starland Ballroom in Sayreville, N.J. for a four-minute verbal barrage -- albeit comedic -- after he spotted an audience brouhaha. "Hold up, hold up," he yelled during the pre-chorus to 'Oceans.' "Are there people fighting right now? Are you f***ing serious? As a singer, I don't know how to deal with this s***. This is crazy. I mean, we're a band called the Format. We make, like, weak pop music. What the f*** would you fight at our show for?" Point taken.
