John Vanderslice Finds Inspiration in 'Emerald City'

Bay Area rocker John Vanderslice recently stopped by our Los Angeles studio for a stellar four-song acoustic performance in support of his new album, 'Emerald City.'

"It's a personal love album, that has to do with the world," Vanderslice told Spinner, adding that much of his inspiration was born from a long-distance relationship with someone in France. "It was an absolute nightmare for us to be together -- due to wreckless foreign policy. I was affected by world politics in way I wasn't before."

Hear Vanderslice wax poetic about the album and his ideal super-group, and download the entire emotional performance, all after the jump.
