ok i grew up lietening to the beatles..even saw first hand their performance on the ed sullivan show..i was trying not to scream sitting in my front room watching a black and white t.v. they rocked back then every bit as much as they do today.and yes their music that is listened to today speaks for itself..they simply are the best

Well, Jim, there is a good place for you in Atascadero, California, - the California institution for the criminally insane.
(Sarah Connor was there, too)
Have a nice time over there....

wow, jim! where've you been? seriously. great artists and their work stand the test of time. my parents listened to the beatles in their day and the mere fact that i, as a 15 year old, can pick up their records and enjoy the music proves that the beatles must've been onto something. they're geniuses...end of story!

I love this song, and I love the Beatles, but I'm not sure I'd pick this as their best opening lyric.
Hmm...maybe Across the Universe?

awww
this one?
i mean all beatles are phenomenal, but there are others out there...i think this list is more of a popularity contest than it is based on the actual intelligence and emotion of a song. but what do i know? im just a silly 14 year old who loves her beatles

I think every lyric the Beatles ever wrote was the best and number one in my book,,,, when you can write a song that tills of a story that has a beginning and a ending and takes you on that journey in your mind,,, that is just magic,,, and something I hope to do before I die,,,, The Magical Mystery Tour was an album that no other can match to this day,,,,, and I’m so glade I lived thru The Beatles days and yes I do miss it and own all the DVD’s of them,,, and I really think I’m the way I am because of them.. they taught me the way……

What the fuck is this? It's not even the original version.
I LOOOVE the Beatles, but they should have just used the studio recording.

The most over-rated talentless group of hacks ever. The beatles SUCK!
antrrmanat 12-27-2008
Apparently not only were you not around in the sixtys but you have no idea of what music is.
mrswentz1994at 7-08-2009
Well, I didn't like them,
but I'm sure they have more
talent then you do.
Carlyat 10-16-2009
Wha!!!!!!! You have no idea. Music as we know it wouldn't exist without the Beatles.
Momo.

The Best Band Of all time ! ! !
The Beatles broke all the rules back in there day ! ! And they keep going ! !

Jim's comment places him as the frontrunner for Posterboy of the Uninformed.
There were 2 acts which changed music since the days of the big bands and pop-singers...roughly the 30s, 40's and early 50's. Those two acts were Elvis and the Beatles.
I am not a Beatles apologist, but to say they were a bunch of hacks simply exposes your ignorance.

Pixieat 8-27-2007
never liked a single song that the beatles wrote or sang. was young when they became the craze and i still knew that this was an overblown up band. pity they didn't sink to the bottom and never come back up when they were on that yellow submarine.

While the Beatles may not have been the best band ever. No one, no one can say that they did not strongly change the music scene and make it what it is today. Before the Beatles, Do-Wap,after the Beatles, Jimi Hendricks.
