Well, I didn't like them,

talent then you do.

Jim's comment places him as the frontrunner for Posterboy of the Uninformed.
There were 2 acts which changed music since the days of the big bands and pop-singers...roughly the 30s, 40's and early 50's. Those two acts were Elvis and the Beatles.
I am not a Beatles apologist, but to say they were a bunch of hacks simply exposes your ignorance.

never liked a single song that the beatles wrote or sang. was young when they became the craze and i still knew that this was an overblown up band. pity they didn't sink to the bottom and never come back up when they were on that yellow submarine.

While the Beatles may not have been the best band ever. No one, no one can say that they did not strongly change the music scene and make it what it is today. Before the Beatles, Do-Wap,after the Beatles, Jimi Hendricks.

To those of you who would call the beatles no talent....Umm, exactly what band are you with and are your records still selling 37 YEARS after you broke up?? Didn't think so. Oh and by the way, if they were so non talented, why would circe de solei have a nightly show in vegas based on their music? That's what I thought.

Yeah Jeff, todays artists will be lucky if their songs are selling next week much less next year or next decade.

Hey Jim, if you look at any of the halfway decent bands out there today they all give props to The Beatles for influencing them. The Beatles are probably the best band historically, considering they still have a huge fan base who appreciates their talent. Elephantman is right, 40 years from now people will still be listening to the Beatles and buying their music! They broke ground, I can only imagine what talentless hack you listen to!

Hey guys, let's talk music instead of criticizing each other! The numbers of albums sold speak for themselves! The Beatles kept reinventing themselves and finally John Lennon went on to "IMAGINE".

if it weren't for the beatles you wouldn't have music videos. this is a band that inspired a REVOLUTION in Russia back in the 60's. they were only together for four/five years! and they're still selling and their messages are still being heard everywhere. what other band's done all that? i honestly think some of you are just being ignorant to get people like me ticked off.

LOL at Jeff...Im in full agreement...GO BEATLES!! Woohoo!! ALthough it did take me awhile for them to grow on me...or for me to get them rather....im not some screamin, teenage girl from the 60's after all.

The Beatles firsts started playing together in 1957. They were called the Quarry Men. They were together for 13 years which is a long time for any band. They are still selling records almost 40 years after they were broken up. If they didn't come along there would be no Rolling Stones, Zepplin, or even someone like Dave Matthews Band. They have infulenced almost every kind of music. There was only one Beatles and will never be a band as big or as time withstanding.

Andy Lukac, Jr.at 8-28-2007

Although John professed his dislike of the final mix of "Lucy..." that is and was his perogative...without this song and without "Sgt. Pepper" as a whole there would be a "worm-hole" not only in the Summer of Love but also in the history of pop/art/rock culture. As with all seminal artists, Lennon (specifically in this song)and The Beatles were able to craft songs which were their own and at the same time became ours as well. Indeed, "A Splendid Time Was Guaranteed For All!"
