This song has got to be the quintessential anthem for the nightmare that still haunts me and a few others.
I love this song and it will always be that single song that says VIET NAM for me.

One of the greatest "acid rock" songs....wait. One of the greatest rock songs of all time, period. Has stood up to the test of time pretty well. Ravel's "Bolero" is a classical piece. You are right, it builds in intensity, "layers", as it proceeds. Bolero was, of course, made famous in American pop culture for its use as the song in the hit 70's film "10" as the song to which African trade bead tressed Bo Derek prefered to make love.

Just love this song. A few years back at the alumni parade the theme was Disney movies. The class of '68 chose Alice in Wonderland. They had a boombox blaring White Rabbit on their float. It was so fitting coming from their generation.

Jefferson Airplanes opening lines for " Somebody to Love" can not be ignored either..Any one who never listened to a Jefferson Airplane album / cd treasures like Surrelistic Pillow ( the first?) , Volunteers.. needs to start listening..........: " When the truth is found , to be lies, then all the joy ,within you dies."
