I must say that to say Cobain was insignificant is like saying that John Lennon or Don Henley of the Eagles don't matter to music. Nirvana didn't invent Grunge but without them Grunge never gets out of the Seattle area on any grand stage. He changed the path of music from the Glam rock of Poison to the grittier side of Pearl Jam Alice in Chains and even Soundgarden even though they weren't Grunge.
