I agree with Melody about that particualr Billie Holiday lyric being a classic. As for the Madonna referenced lyric it's only classic when viewed through the lens of her personal career path and life. A more universally classic lyric spoken by Madonna would be "Poor is the man who's pleasure depends on the permission of another" from Justify My Love.
