love that hairdo...the era sure had ugly styles. his hair looks like a volcano and his rattled brains should come flowing out of that top bump any second. hah. did guy's really wear their hair like this? thought they looked real cool too....

Dear Pixie
No, "They" didn't wear their hair like Jerry Lee. "He" wore it. It was part of his act. Just like performers ever since. They use their hair to shock.
Hair styles from that era are certainly no goofier than any that have followed.

Jerry Lee was and still is a wonderful performer.
he may be older but he can still play the piano and sing just like he always did. it was good to see him in concert last month in Tulsa,ok.

I was just a kid if even that. But the hairdo, it didn't last long, when he got going playing that piano, he was everywhere. Playing with his feet, playing on top of it, so his hair didn't stay that way. By the end of any song, it looked like he had been through the wringer. Not a fan of his personal life, but love some of his songs. The movie with Dennis Quaid is a good way to get to know about Jerry Lee.... Dennis was a dollbaby in the movie, but read he didn't sing the songs, they were dubbed by Jerry himself or from the older recordings. Still a great movie.

"You shake my nerves and you rattle my brain" -- what imagery! Written by Otis Blackwell and Jack Hammer, these words wake up audiences worldwide when Jerry delivers them to this day! A monumental hit from a monumental artist, whose live performances have riveted millions for over a half century. Jerry used his hands, feet, butt, and yes, his hair, in his flashy shows. If you see him today, he's slower, but he's still "got it" (including his hair!).
Thanks for voting Jerry as a winner in this survey.
