Readers' Best Opening Lyrics: No. 25

When we compiled our Best Opening Lyrics, we knew we'd break your little hearts by leaving off some of your favorites. We were also pretty darn sure you'd let us know. Here are the 25 you shouted about the loudest. Hey, no hard feelings.

"I guess I shoulda known
by the way you parked your car sideways
that it wouldn't last"

--Prince's 'Little Red Corvette'

What about "A person can work up a mean, mean thirst after a hard day of nothing much at all"
The Replacements "Here Comes a Regular" of of 1985's "Tim"

I never got the point of the Jeremiah line. It never made sense to me.

The one anti-song that I just cannot stand and feel makes absolutely no sense is the 1964 atrocity "The Name Game." I think it is nothing more than a psychotic word salad and hearing that atrocity does terrible things to me. I just cannot listen to it.

I never understood that Jeremiah line and never thought it was relevant or made any sense. The song was okay, but I felt Jeremiah the bullfrog was extraneous.

One anti-song that I just absolutely abhor and just cannot listen to is the 1964 atrocity "The Name Game." It makes absolutely no sense and sounds like a psychotic word salad. I would never wish "The Name Game" on anyone, not even Charles Manson or Hitler!

To me it has to be "And now the end is near, and so I face the final curtain" from "My Way" by Old Blue Eyes himself, Francis Albert Sinatra.
