Readers' Best Opening Lyrics: No. 4

what makes this a great opening line is:
1) It makes you want to hear more - you are hooked about the fate of these people and
2)The rhythm of the words, especially leading into the next line, "like a vision she dances across the porch as the radio plays".

This entire song is great. I don't care what the haters say, this is a GREAT opening line.

I am 13 and I was raised listening to BRUCEE! I have seen him 4 times in convert and he is an unbelievable performer! People that say he is anti-american are wrong. Bruce loves this country but he realizes like many other people that there are faults here and bad things that happen in government, and other places. This is probably in my top 5 of favorite bruce songs! I love the opening lyric! Thanks for putting Bruce on this list!

I like The Boss, but I don't think I'd pick this for his best opening lyric

so, i am 15 and my parents raised me on pretty much nothing but the Boss. Greatest artist of all time, and this is his BEST song, hands down. he is defanatly NOT anti american, and anyone who didnt realize he is oppinonated, has obviously never listened to the words of Born In the USA. and, to the people who commented about the line being wrong, according to his album(not the cd, the album) the line is as listed.

The last line of this song is the best... "It's a town full of losers, I'm pulling out of here to win"

SWAYS? HAHAHAHAHA! ...oh, yeah, and HUNGRY HEART? How old ARE you??? Quit making ignorant comments about a man you never got the pleasure to see - when he sang songs like this! Go back and listen to what is considered 'music' today - or are you a Disco lover?
