Mike- you better check your lyrics. This is the opening line, and Werewolves of London, along with many of Warren Zevon's songs, was brilliant. We will miss him. R.I.P.

Your comments: Yes, Warren Zevon was a brilliant songwriter. He wrote the songs that
made so many singers rise to the top. Like, "Hasten Down the Wind"
for Linda Rondstadt. He worked hard, he played hard. He struggled, he
lived the enchanted West Coast life. He was a rowdy musician, he was a
husband and father. We, who are his loyal fans WILL miss him. But, why
oh why, did the powers that be use a photo from his final album, The
Wind? Don't y'all know that he was very sick at this point? I for one
would like to see him in better times. Oh, and check your history on
this song. Warren was not the sole writer of "Werewolves of London."
It was a group effort!

Mike#4... looked it up on 3 different sights all had these as the opening lyrics.....catchy song but boring after you hear it a few times very simple not alot of talent involved in this song, but fun none the less

Great song. Love ALL the lyrics in the song, even the ones that seem to be improvised..."Draw blood!" :)

What a strange but talented bird. His final Effort, "The Wind" was both hearbreaking and touching. We miss him. Hope they add him to R&R HOF next round.

ah oooo, ah oooooo, warewolves of london....i sing this to my kennel dog's when they start howing like wolves if i'm outside in the dark. one howls and the other 10 join in, one at a time, and then they're all howling so loud that you couldn't hear a fire or police siren if your life depended on it. we live in the country, have a horse farm with forest all around us and actually, at times when the kennel dog's do this, you get a cold chill up your back as you wonder what's out in those millions of pitch dark black trees.... ah ooooooo actually, i love the song that has a spanish list to it, called, um, can't remember the name but it's the name of the girl he's singing to. i love spanish (latino) music and this is why i love this song done so well by him, catchy tune. am sure i'll remember the name right after i send this in to be posted. don't you hate when this happens!! ah oooooooopppppps.

Warren Zevon was a true genius, and it's sad that he's known to the general public for this song alone. How his farewell song "Keep Me In Your Heart" didn't make the list of saddest songs is beyond me. To sing a song about your own impending death is heartbreaking.

Right...this must be over my head and before my musical taste time...who is this? lol but if u all say he's a genius...i guess....maybe...?
WZevonat 8-28-2007
I much prefer "Roland was a warrior from the land of the Midnight Sun ..." or "I went home with a waitress, the way I alway do, how was I to know she was with the Russians, too?; however, WZ making the top ten in any "list" makes this first cup of instant coffee palatable.

pixie,
what's it like at night when the voices tell you what to do?

KYE: if you appreciate music i would have to say you should check him out just start with a Genius the best of Warren Zevon. Guarunteed you get hooked. Amazing writer. And I agree it is very said this is the only song people know by him. So much talent that unfortunately got wasted on so few fans. Anyone that can write a song that Dylan performs has to have talent. Great Line Great song...not simple and took more talent then I'm sure you have. but most certainly not his best song. I LOVE CARMELITA!!!

Who is this wannabe Frank Zappa? Did he record this song on his 3 year old sister's Casio keyboard? Are we just proud he could put more than two words into a sentence even if they make no sense?

As a Chef I prefer: "Well I went home with a waitress... the way I always do" ... Lawyers, Guns and Money
