The song Your thinking of is Carmelita,Also, Poor ,Poor, Pitiful me. it was done by linda ronstadt in the 70's and redone by Terri Clark in the 90'sAnyway one of the all time best songwriters if your feeling adventurous,also check out Townes van Zant, Billy Joe Shaver, or Joe Ely

Don't feel too bad! I never got it, either. It makes no sense, and is rather annoying. I don't remember hearing any of the other tunes mentioned getting radio play, just this one, which I always thought was kind of dumb.

Warren Zevon WAS a true genius...my favorite song has always been, for some reason, "Roland the Headless Thompson Gunner," but I suppose this made the list because it's the most famous..."Enjoy Every Sandwich," everybody!!
