Depeche Mode Frontman Flies Solo
- Posted on Aug 28th 2007 6:00PM by M. Tye Comer
Depeche Mode played 124 shows during their 2005/2006 world tour, but frontman Dave Gahan still isn't ready to slow down. On Oct. 23, he will release 'Hourglass,' his second solo album, which he wrote and produced with the help of DM touring musicians Christian Eigner and Andrew Phillpott. Gahan's first solo album, 2003's 'Paper Monsters,' was a modest success, but fans are already saying that the new album's first single, 'Kingdom,' is a vast improvement over his previous solo efforts. There may be hope yet.
Listen to 'Kingdom' after the jump.

Good for Dave! Evolving and polishing he's style to the poin to: when you start hearing the song, you can't tell is Dave Gahan at all until you pay attention to the chorus and reconise him. This is a great Fussion song of electrobeat with that Rocky feeling that Depeche Has imprimpted on their later material, but Dave mold it and make it his own!
