"We've been together four years and we've played some of the toughest opener slots," Lewis tells Spinner. "We've opened for Turbonegro. One of the ways to earn your stripes is to open for that band 'cause their audience is very territorial. They're very much like a 'We'll beat you up after school' kind of audience -- which I love. Those shows were really exciting and we won that crowd over."
Lewis and her band will head out on their own headlining tour in support of their new album, 'Four on the Floor,' following another forthcoming round of supporting dates -- these with Muse. "We opened for them in Europe and we took a liking to each other very much," she says. "Then they offered a support spot in the States."
While Lewis' musical foray may seem an odd fit with Muse, she has high hopes based on their shared Italy show. "Their fans were a completely inviting and amazing bunch of people," she recalls. "My whole thing is to just try to unite a crowd and get them going, whether they know you or not."
