Frontman Gets Inked Onstage
- Posted on Aug 29th 2007 8:00AM by David Sprague
While it's pretty much impossible to imagine topping the sheer visceral spectacle of Iggy Pop slicing his chest to ribbons with broken glass while onstage, the frontman of punk torchbearers Gallows did his best to shed a little blood for British fans last weekend when he got a tattoo midway through a performance at the Reading Festival.Frank Carter further proved his mettle by eschewing the use of a professional tattoo artist, instead recruiting New Found Glory guitarist Chad Gilbert to emblazon his right arm with a lock surrounded by seven stars. Granted, the fact that a musician had a needle stuck into his arm at a show wouldn't normally qualify as news -- especially to anyone who made it through the grunge era -- but the inky souvenir somehow makes this instance a little more memorable.

I stopped marking on myself when I was 5 years old. I guess some people never grow up?

and the reason this is news: tattoos should ONLY be done in safe, sterile environment by a licensed tattoo artist. the fact that a kid from some other band just decided to do it like he decided to get it has me hoping and praying he doesn't get an infection or Hep A or C behind it.
I don't beleive I have low self esteem and I have a tat. I did it for my son...I am glad I did, he died and that's something I will always have that we did together. It's hidden but it makes me happy to know it's something I did for him. Personally, I wouldn't judge people on such things, such as if they may have a tatoo or not...
