The Frames Honor Pavarotti in the City of Angels

During their very sold-out Los Angeles show last night, Irish band the Frames took a moment to remember fallen musical icon Luciano Pavarotti, the beloved Italian tenor who died this week at the age of 71. To start the band's encore, violinist Colm MacConIomaire returned to the stage and performed the instrumental 'Blue Shoes,' saying simply, "This one's for Luciano."Pavarotti wasn't the only musical great honored during the show. The long-running band, relishing the success of the summer art-house hit 'Once' that stars lead singer Glen Hansard, recalled an Irish legend, throwing in a long and lively snippet of Van "The Man" Morrison's 'Caravan' during 'What Happens When the Heart Just Stops.'
To cap off the night, Hansard said, "We only do this when we're in a happy space, and we're in a really happy space right now," and led his bandmates in a rousing rendition of the Pixies' 'Where Is my Mind.'
