The White Stripes Cancel Appearance at Austin City Limits

True: The White Stripes have cancelled their headlining spot at Austin City Limits this coming weekend, as well as their Stubb's BBQ show.
False: Meg White has suffered a nervous breakdown, which has rendered her unable to bring the rhythmic force that is her hot half of the Detroit rock duo.
"Meg has not suffered a nervous breakdown," a Stripes spokesperson told Spinner, despite rumors claiming otherwise. Meanwhile, ACL producer Charles Attal said earlier today that the band is unable to perform on Saturday due to "medical reasons." An official statement from the Stripes' camp is expected later today.
For those of you tracking rumors: U2 will not be filling in for the Stripes. But stand by. UPDATE: Muse will play in the Stripes' spot.
