The death of Notorious B.I.G. brought resentment between Jay-Z and Nas to the surface, as both rappers vied for the unofficial title of King of New York. Lyrics alluding to Jay-Z's familiarity with Nas's ex set off a volley of disses, including 'Ether,' on which Nas questioned Jay's manhood. When Jay again played the girlfriend card, his mother demanded he apologize. Despite lingering ill will, the two sides announced a truce in 2005; Nas is now signed to Def Jam, Jay-Z's label.

rap is the only music that is tolerable to listen to these days.. have you ever tried listening to white music.. its like music thats meant for suicidal people who are on the cliff ready to jump. white music is either about suicide, jealousy, crying, whining, yelling, boring, no base in your voice type music. rap is about im the best out there and i will kill you if i have to. it brings up your self esteem and make you feel tougher.

These two are such a great example to young blacks. This is such bulls**t. They and other "hard gangsta rappers" teach youth that it is cool to go shoot someone. A real man doesn't need a gun, in fact a real man is above crap like this in the first place. Grow the f**k up.
This promotes nothing but a bad attitude and that will get you nowhere that you need to be in this world. Jeez.

And Nas definitely slaughtered Jay on this one, obviously this site is rating the winner by proposed power alone. The truth is, not only did Nas "Ether" Jay, but Jay needed Nas to collaborate with him, cut an album on his label, etc. in an attempt to boost sales at Def Jam since many of Jay's artists weren't cutting the mustard so to speak.
