Worst Band Feuds: No. 6

Fightin' Words: "The only thing you done was yesterday/ And since you're gone you're just another day" ('How Do You Sleep?,' Lennon)
Lennon managed to puncture two of his former collaborators' songs with one shot on this bitter dis from 'Imagine.' Lennon's was responding to McCartney's own bitter pills on his solo releases, which featured a photo of a beetle getting screwed and the line "You took your lucky break and broke it in two." Lennon expressed regret for the feud before his death, and McCartney has grown wistful for his old mate in recent years. Still, Macca couldn't resist lobbying to have his name reversed with Lennon's on some credits. Yoko was not amused.

The real winner is Billy Shears.
RIP Paul 1942-1966
RIP John 1940-1980
RIP George 1943-2001
John got his revenge: His soul infiltrated Heather Mills' peg leg.

Perfect example..."A Day in the Life"

July 17 2009 at 12:59 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyThe real feud was between Paul and George. George had always felt that Paul screwed him over financially during the Beatles breakup and never really forgave Paul for it.
May 16 2009 at 6:32 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyThe feud was over before Lennon's untimely death. McCartney mentioned in a few interviews at the time that Lennon had called him one night a few months before his death and that he and Lennon ended the feud during that phone call. They both felt that neither of them would have been where they were without the other and that it was time to "make up" and move on. McCartney also said at the time that after that,he and Lennon talked on the phone nearly every week, and that he and Lennon were actually talking about trying to write music together again. It was apparently in the "just discussing the idea" phase when Lennon was tragically shot.

Between the time the Beatles broke up and John Lennon's death in 1981, how many hits (both solo and with other groups) did John Lennon have compared to Paul McCartney? I'm sorry, but with the exception of the hypocrisy-fest that is 'Imagine' (A multi-millionaire in the 1970s telling people to imagine having no posessions?) Paul McCartney buried John Lennon during that time period. John Lennon was just ticked that he was living off royalties while Paul was making new music that was both actually relevant and selling commercially.
