Man these articles make it seem like there partying was a bad thing! They lived more then any of us these men are rock gods.

Hey, look close because that is Janis on a bad day yes but Janis. She lived in a time when it was not cool to grab every penny and charge $50.00buck's a head to get in. When Rock & Roll was all about NOT being commercial. She made the mistake of being too honest in a land built on honesty but the bad guy's were'nt always in power, only then for a short time. She was getting her life together and going in the right direction but shot her mouth off about marching on washington when the power's that be were way to corrupt and scared she could do it, then after she died came Kent State. The truth will probably never be known but they accomplished the lesson they were trying to teach, DRUGS ARE BAD! If nothing elce she did that much for them, right?

Janis was so beautiful in her early years, too bad the drugs and partying ruined her. Her talent could've gone so far! She will be missed, but her music will live on forever. ROCK ON, JANIS!

Man get off Janis Joplin.... She was a pioneer of female blues, rock, and soul... She is my idol as she is for many more... She left us way before her time... You have rocked my heart and soul Janis and will do so for all time...

Ok, let me get this right. Janis is dead, but Britney and Amy Winehouse rank higher on the list? Brilliant.

YOU ARE SO WRONG ABOUT JANIS SHE WAS A TALENT LIKE NO OTHER. SEE HOW YOU FEEL IF THE PEOPLE IN YOUR TOWN SAY YOUR VOTED THE UGLIEST MAN. SHE SHOWED THEM WHEN SHE WENT BACK AND SHOWED THEM. ITS TOO BAD THE TOWN KILLED HER. PEOPLE SHOULD NOT TALK ABOUT SOMEONE IF THEY DONT HAVE ANYTHING GOOD TO SAY. ROCK ON JANIS.

I remember listening to Billy Holiday for the first time years ago and was wondering what the fuss was all about, then someone told me about her life the struggles, the drug use, the booze, the bad relationships, then I realized her singing the blues was coming right from the heart, what was captured on tape all those years ago was a woman at some of the lowest times of her life, I was never a big fan of Janis Joplin but I think if she had lived longer she might have made some unbelievable recordings, her voice needed to be backed up by an acoustic guitar, slide guitar and mouth harp, she could have made some great blues records, to bad she partied so hard.
