Addled by LSD, booze, depression and bad poetry reviews, the Doors frontman went from svelte sex god to hairy, Jack Daniels-soaked tub of lard in a matter of a few years. Few rockers can keep it in their pants, but Morrison put most to shame with his womanizing. He was even sentenced to hard labor for whipping out "little Jimmy" during a Miami concert. The Lizard King never saw the inside of a cell, though. The 27-year-old met his end in 1971. Rumors suggest he overdosed in a Paris nightclub's toilets and was left for dead in his hotel bathtub.

Lots of mistakes in this unkind blurb on Morrison. He did not drink Jack Daniels. He DID see the inside of several jail cells, in several cities. And putting on 40 lbs during his brief career made him somewhat chunky, but hardly a "tub of lard."
The long hair and beard were the hippie style of the day that were adopted by many performers - including the Beatles and Beach Boys. The writer probably doesn't remember because he wasn't alive back then.
Morrison and the Doors were great - that's why they are still selling records four decades after his death. BTW, the rumor of him overdosing in a Paris toilet was started by the nightclub's bouncer a few years ago, in a paid article in a magazine. Pamela Morrison testified that she was only out for a couple of hours - long enough to see a movie - and returned to find Jim in the bath tub. So it is more likely he took the fatal drugs alone at home and decided to jump in the tub before they kicked in.

#5. First of all, a number of people testified that Jim Morisson never actually exposed himself on stage, but instead put his finger through his pants to look like his "little Jimmy."
Second, it is not known how Jim actually died. He was reported to have had a heart attack. Only Pamela, the manager, and the doctor ever saw the body. So, to say that rumors said that he died from a drug overdose doesn't tell the whole story.
Third, Jim Morisson is a one-of-a-kind rock legend that was too ahead of his time for his own good.
