As the jury deliberations in the Phil Spector murder trial inexplicably goes on and on, not everyone is standing idly by while the wheels of justice grind ever so slowly. Someone has used the heretofore all-benevolent MySpace for nefarious purposes, as a posting on a page of the somewhat popular social-networking site titled "Official Team Spector" proffered the statements "I love Phil Spector" as well as the equally creepy "The Evil Judge should DIE!!!!" in a clear reference to Judge Larry Paul Fidler, who has been presiding over the case. The threatening MySpace mesage was signed "xoxo Chelle," a nickname of the 67-year-old famed record producer's 27-year-old wife, Rachelle, who had recently exchanged cross words with Fidler. This stemmed from the judge invoking a gag order on Rachelle Spector after she appeared on Court TV last week in order to defend her hubby. The Spinner Spector Detector tends to side with the Spectors in this instance: Anyone suspecting that the hand of Phil Spector is involved in this threat is probably barking up the wrong tree. Let's just suffice to say that character assassination is just not Phil's MO.
Also, earlier in the week, the deadlocked jurors asked that a VCR be brought into the jury room. A VCR? Really?! Could it be that the 12 people deciding Spector's fate are looking for inspiration from a collection of old 'Matlock' tapes? This reporter would like to think that maybe a set of 'Perfect Strangers' highlights is keeping their minds sharp. We know Cousin Balki makes our tension just vanish every time he says, "Don't be reediculous!"
