Brit Rockers Asked to Help Boost Israeli Tourism
- Posted on Sep 27th 2007 10:00AM by David Sprague
Over the past half-century or so, the powers that be have tried any number of ways to bring peace and prosperity to the Middle East, none of which have turned out to be terribly successful -- but now that one group is turning to a gaggle of middle-aged men in eyeliner, prospects are looking quite a bit brighter. The Israeli Tourism Board has approached Duran Duran in the hopes that the band can help bring an influx of visitors to the city of Tel Aviv through an ad that would feature an obscure instrumental from the band's 1981 debut entitled -- what else? -- 'Tel Aviv.' Heck, if it works, we can imagine the folks in the fun-loving surrounding countries cranking out a series of commercials featuring chador-clad cuties bopping along to 'Walk Like an Egyptian' or, if worse came to worse, our favorite Queen tune reworked as 'Radio Gaza.'

It's a modern democracy, the country is lovely, the place is historical for Christians, Jews, Muslims, Armenians. The holy city is divided into these 4 quarters. I have been there many times and I would go back anytime to visit. It's safe for the tourists and now that the wall has been built, it's a safer country. Before you defend the Palistinians or Arabs, learn the history. Plus, the Arabs were offered their own country in 1948 and they waged war on Israel and lost, again in 1967 and lost, and they attacked again in 1973 and lost. They were offered a country again with Clinton, 93% of the original land and Arafat rejected that.

September 30 2007 at 4:26 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyIsrael is God's Beloved nation along with it's peopletherefore it is also mine.Ill choose to align myself with who God Loves. I believe love to be the most modern version of basic human rights. This is an request to learn to love others; Will we do it? Can America choose to love Israel, because the day our nation stops loving and caring for Israel will be to our own demise as our destiny is closely linked to their survival...the Bible says this and CNN is mans Good News whereas the Bible is GoD's Good News

www.ussliberty.org
the Lavon Affair/ Operation Suzanna
Jonathan Pollard-- the Israeli spy who gave American secrets away to Israel who in turn handed it over to the Soviets resulting in the deaths of numerous American agents. Now this traitor wants to be set free!
The 120 or so Israeli spies that were rounded up and deported after 9-11.
