Shivaree Invites Phil Spector, R. Kelly to Twisted Party

Astute fans might notice a common thread among the artists Shivaree's Ambrosia Parsley chose to cover on her new album, 'Tainted Love: Mating Calls & Fight Songs,' including Gary Glitter, R. Kelly, Phil Spector, Michael Jackson, Ike Turner and Rick James.

"What all of the people on this record share in common is the fact that they've all had a pretty challenging time in their pursuit of love," Parsley tells Spinner. "Does that lead to art or does art lead to that?"

While the project evolved, Parsley's artist choices were everchanging. "It had to be somebody who had a pretty crazy, upside down ride trying to get to love," she says. "I wanted them to have written the song and I also wanted to have them be one of my favorites in the entire world. Ike Turner is my favorite guitar player and I love Phil Spector. Eventually we thought maybe it's more of a cocktail party -- like, who would make a really interesting cocktail party?"

Also potential guests at her shindig, Parsley says, are Axl Rose, OJ Simpson, Woody Allen or Roman Polanski to document that gathering. Given the history and reputation of many of the folks on the list though, would even she want to go? "I wouldn't really want to speed date the party, but it probably could be pretty interesting," she says. "This conversation usually requires wine."

Are you kidding? We'll all be too busy celebrating, you loon. Phil is guilty, and sooner or later, he's going down for this.

Craigushka: I can't see why you would use this opportunity to spread vicious anti-Semitism on line. Phil Spector being Jewish is as relevant as Al Capone being Christian. Just because neither was able to be convicted on murder charges does not mean someone is being bought off. It is the JURY who decides guilt. Are you suggesting THEY were all bought off? Erroneously concluding that a person’s motives are always based on unethical foundations is a common ailment of our society. It is patently untrue, and is in itself, unethical.

That synagogue of satan Phil Spector is not off yet. If this DA does not go for another trail, then possibly he could be taking payoffs from those jews.

Spector is guilty - one lousy juror (who was foreman, by the way) decided the Prosecution had to prove beyond a shadow of a doubt, not beyond a reasonable doubt. May that juror rot in hell with Spector.
