You heard it here, folks:
Wu-Tang Clan "ain't nothing to f--- wit." To prove it, the New York-based rappers have successfully cleared the first-ever Beatles sample. To fuel the buzz about the upcoming song, the Wu gave songstress Erykah Badu a shout out in a recent MySpace blog post for "helping bring this song to life," sparking rumors that the neo-soul singer might also appear on the track.
The sample, plucked from the
George Harrison-penned 'While My Guitar Gently Weeps,' is featured in the new Wu-Tang song 'Gently Weeps,' from their upcomimg album '8 Diagrams.' Once
thought to be a partial cover, the track features contributions from Dhani Harrison (son of the late Beatle) and
Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist John Frusciante. '8 Diagrams' was slated for a November release, but will now hit stores on December 4.
