Bono's Daughter Was Center of Kidnapping Plan

Bono's daughter, Jordan Hewson, was the target of an abduction plot in 1994. Five Irish criminals reportedly planned to demand $8 million in exchange for the U2 frontman's then four-year-old daughter.

However, according to a new book written by the daughter of gangster Martin "The General" Cahill, Frances, the plan foiled when Martin called off the mission after six straight months of camping out at Bono's Dublin estate. "It ISN'T going to happen," he said. Frances is the eldest of Cahill's nine children, and the Bono-related scam is just one of the many shameful acts detailed in her book 'Martin Cahill, My Father,' which was released last week.

Bono, not taken seriously? LMAO Whatever, dude, you are jealous. The man rocks, right down to his untucked shirt and awesome glasses. He is a rocker, and a humanitarian...he is a great person, a positive example for even the youth of today. He is not caught up in the rock world of drugs etc. All rockers should be like him, the world would be better off.

seriously people, in a world of lindsay lohans and britney spears, i would much prefer for musicians to do something good with their influence instead of showing todays generation that 30 days in a hotel called "rehab" is the norm. wouldnt you?

Seriously, Bono has done some amazingly generous work for humanitarian causes. If anything he should be admired....not reviled.

I would think that when a person has been on the short list for the Nobel Peace Prize for a few years, it might be an indication that he is in fact being taken seriously.

Shell; In regards to your comments , this is the USA and everyone has the RIGHT to believe in what they want and follow what & who they want. P.S. I don't pray to Jesus because he is not my God. So there. I believe your idea follows a dictatorship not a democracy

BONO ROCKS the real world!!!! He's not only a rock star, but a humanitarian, donating time and money to worthy causes. They don't put people on the list for a Nobel Prize because they are slackers. He doesn't need to have his face plastered all over the place either. He does his thing without any fanfare. A welcomed change from those losers, Brit, Lindsey, and Paris!!!!

I'm glad she wasn't kidnapped, but I am disappointed that this news is so old. I wish they would keep it recent.

I love the jealousy of Bono going on in these comments. You know the only reason people make fun of other people is because of their own insecurities...You're jealous of Bono. It's ok to admit that.

Bono is an amazing person who uses his position to better the world.

You can hate his hair, clothes, sunglasses, his music...but you cannot hate him as a person, for what he does for the world.

Note to politicians. Trying to look cool by hanging out with actors and musicians only makes you look dorkier.
