My son turned me on to this music and I think they still kick ass. They will always be my favorite rock band. St. Anger was a little on the dark side, but it took a few times listenin' to it to grow on me. Saw them only once; definitely kicked ass and I will always love 'em.

Hey, I'm 53 years old. I'll still be rockin' to Metallica in my 60's & 70's, if I'm fortunate to live that long. I learned 'Nothing Else Matters' in sign language and it is truly beautiful! And they will be playin' that song at my funeral. Couldn't tell you one favorite song; just love everyone of them. You still rock, guys!!!!! Peace, love, reefer, and happiness to ya!

I'm not a big fan of Metallica's music, but they are truly very nice and gracious men...They stayed at the hotel I worked at and gave all of us in the front office free front row tickets...I sold mine! lol

Agreed,St.Anger is a p.o.s, with the exception of Frantic. The horrible result of Metallica bowing down to metalcore. Load and ReLoad, that's the era of Metallica I grew up with in high school, however Ride The Lighting remains my favorite album to this day. I'm sick of people bashing the Black Album. It's heavier than anything they have done to date, but I haven't fully heard Death Magnetic yet so that might change.Everyone bitches about it either because it was over produced or becasue of Nothing Else Matters (which James didn't even wanna record), or because it wasn't fast, or whatever. Screw that, it was a great album and always will be. Also, I'm tired of always hearing "Man, this ain't Puppets!" in response to everything new that Metallica puts out. Master Of Puppets was Master Of Puppets, ok? Get over it.

i agree, man. Ride the Lightning has the best variety, i can never get sick of the songs on that album!
black album is heavy, but so what? when ur in a bad mood or u wanna get pumped, nothin beats the heavy stuff! mop is sooooo over-rated, b/c it was released in their prime. everyone wants their old stuff, but then all you'd be hearing is the same shit, mixed differently
i agree that St. Anger was a weak album overall, although i liked "I Disappear" cuz of its heavy riffs. so far, Death Magnetic sounds like a good balance between heavy tone and fresh material. i haven't heard much from the new album, but "My Apocalypse" seems to have a "Blackened"-attitude. lol
i can never get enough of Metallica! I hope they visit Toronto soon!

All of you Metallica haters can kiss my hairy butt! They just set another sales record with DEATH MAGNETIC, which by the way ROCKS! Sure, they have strayed from their original sound from time to time, but that is why they are called artists. If they kept on kicking out the same sound from Ride The Lightening, you haters would be calling them losers putting out the same ole stuff. Bottom line is they are far superior to any other metal band that has EVER recorded.

Now see, these guys are real. I've been a fan since they started, yep I'm as old as James Hetfield. Metallica is and always will be the best band in the world. Now for the real stuff. ALL YOU WHINERS OUT THERE ABOUT NAPSTER AND OMG THEY CHANGED THEIR MUSIC.....GET A FUCKING GRIP. First of all, how would you like to work your ass off just to have it pirated on the internet. and NOOOOOOO, I have never downloaded songs off the internet. Second, if I hear these 3 words again I'm gonna freakin' scream, THEY SOLD OUT. SOLD OUT???? Absolutely every show they do is sold out. REAL FANS stick with their boyz through the good and the bad, and I've been there, and will always be there no matter what they do. So don't call yourself a metallica fan, especially you 20 somethings who know nothing about Metallica except recent stuff. You should get an autobiography of this band, and then you'll give them the respect the deserve from EVERYONE.

yeah i've been listening and rockin to METALLICA since the 80's yeah their newer music might not be as good as the old but they have to keep up with the times!
I've seen them live at least 12 times and they just rock well to all the non metallica fans f*** OFF!
