What do eccentric folk singers and embattled starlets have in common? Fleetwood Mac, of course.Singer Devendra Banhart reportedly made Lindsay Lohan a mix CD to help her cope with her
The Venezuela-raised musician also cited Nico, Vashti Bunyan, Captain Beefheart, Caetano Velso and Joanna Newsom as artists who made it on the special edition substance abuse compilation for his buddy, whom he met when the two interviewed one another for Interview magazine last year. In that article, Banhart called her Lohan's skin "sparkly," and she called him a "bell-bottomed beacon in music's sea of assembly-line blandness."
Yeah, we don't know, either.

I wish I could find this interview anywhere online anymore. It really was great on Devendra's part - pulled from it is this lovely thing he said I like to quote all the time.
"I always had this feeling that there's this music that you dance to and party to, and then there's music that kind of makes your heart dance and that you party to in a different way. You don't move around and shake, but you can. It makes the inside of your spirit shake and move around and stirs different parts of your being. You have many asses, and it makes your soul's ass move as opposed to your ass-ass move."
This makes so much sense. An absolutely mediocre musician being praised by a less than mediocre movie star. Oi Vey. Is Denevdra Banhart such a whore for success that he'll rub elbows with such soul less creeps? Or, as I suspect, he's jus another phoney baloney pop star wanna be disguised as a sincere "hippie." yep-I think that's more the truth. What a joke.
