Elliott Smith's Girlfriend Cut From Will
Jenna Chiba, girlfriend of late singer-songwriter Elliott Smith, will not be awarded any of the folk rocker's estate, it was decided in court on Tuesday. Chiba, thought by conspiracy theorists to have been involved in the stabbing death of the musician, alleged that Smith had promised to support her for the rest of her life. Chiba sued for a portion of his estate because she claimed that they, as a couple, presented themselves to the public as husband and wife. Unfortunately for Chiba, her involvement in his music career --specifically, acting as an unlicensed talent agent -- cost her. In a split court ruling, it was decided that her "cohabitative agreement" was "inextricably intertwined" with her management agreement. Read the full story.
