Brian Viglion and Amanda Palmer wear dramatic makeup and decadent clothing to complement their punk-cabaret sound. The duo started dressing in costume regularly after it performed at a burlesque event in 2000. Palmer says, "I wore whiteface and a really crazy costume. And it just felt right, so it stuck." Viglion, on the other hand, has been experimenting with dressing in drag since he was seven years old.

I think The Dresden dolls are one of the view bands left out their, that not only show their art threw music, but also display their artistic ide by the visual aspect of it all.
