Craziest Costumed Acts: No. 2
- Posted by Spinner

These guys have been shock-rocking the world since '73, long before most bands on this list knew what makeup was. The original lineup of Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley, Ace Frehley and Peter Criss made household names for themselves with distinct face paint and wild stage costumes, not to mention Simmons' freakish tongue. Their alter egos -- The Demon (Simmons), Star Child (Stanley), Space Man (Frehley) and Cat Man (Criss) -- earned the adulation of legions of Kiss Army soldiers.

KISS = Knights In Satan Service, I would never let my kids listen to their mind robbing Devil Music.

I heard when I was younger that the initials of each of the members REAL last names were used to make the name KISS but cannot verify that rumor... It is NOT "Knight In Satan Service..."

October 17 2008 at 7:21 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyHow could KISS be #2 when there have been KISS costumes in the Halloween section every year since 1975? I've been Ace Frehley every year for the last 20 years. Except for last year when I was James Blunt- I dropped down to 90 pounds and had someone beat all the manliness out of me , and then I sang like a bitch. I know that has nothing to do with the subject matter but I really hate that guy.
