Alice was Halloween before Halloween was cool. The godfather of rock 'n' roll theatrics conjured his twisted costume as the image of "a cute, sweet, little girl with a hatchet behind her back." Sporting women's clothes and gobs of mascara, the onetime presidential candidate inspired shock rockers of the future to embrace his special breed of tough-as-nails androgyny.

It's not just the costume. A.C. music and stage show sets him above all the rest. He commits so many atrocities and then pays for it in the end by being hanged or sent to the guillotine. Have been a huge fan since the 70s and won't miss a show. Have traveled from Boston to Tampa to see a show. Keep kickin ass Alice.

I just saw Alice Cooper for the first time this past weekend and it rocked!! I strongly urge everyone to go see him in concert at least once before he retires for good! Rock-On Alice Cooper - Very Entertaining and great music - REAL ROCK-N-ROLL MUSIC - played loudly!!

As a teenger in the 70s I ran into him face to face outside of the motel where he was staying during a concert visit in the area, what a treat for a skinny country boy to meet alice in the flesh, and as fast as we met, his body guard said to him , you know you arent supposed to be out here, and he was gone. I never uttered a word just stood there like a mule looking at a new gate ,dumb founded and in awe. I still love his music today 30 plus years later.

i think alice should have won #1 , some of these bands not from the states, and cooper has be around the longest, his makeup for that time was great, his music well written, and the band your parents hated, he had magic in his shows, as well just excellent shows period, I have seen him 5 times, was my sons first concert. alot of the others look stupit i cant beleive the village people took over alice, kinda wonder who was the judge??? also the shows I have seen were long he took his time, he enjoyed what he did, he pleased everyone. so my choice is Alice,
