The Finnish metal band's schtick is one part monster, two parts ghoul, and attending one of their concerts is like being an extra in a horror film. They've gotten grief for their resemblance to GWAR, but frontman Mr. Lordi claims he hadn't heard of them while he was forming his own gory group. Guitarist Amen said of the GWAR comparison, "I don't know their music so well, but I think they look cool! I guess they must be distant family members for us."

Lordi is possibly the worst band I've ever heard.
When they performed at Ozzfest 2007 in NJ, all you could hear were the boos. They were a complete waste of stage time.

Lorid is awesome. Saw them at Ozzfest and they were greeat. GWAR is just a couple of untalented weirdos whos live shows are more about dismembering Paris Hilton then singing

Well Lordi is honestly one of my favorite bands and for those of you who try to compare them to GWAR seriously have you heard there music? Not only is there music way better than GWARs but they dress like monsters and not fucking aliens. So chill out they play great music and are fucking amazing live. GWAR is just immature.

groundzero, you don't have a clue as to what you're talking about. I'd never even heard of these guys until shortly before I saw them open for Type O Negative on their latest tour, and frankly, they were incredible.
