Photog Auctions Off Sock With Spears' Tread Marks

Since we're ever so fond of tallying signs of the apocalypse, we're tickled to note that Britney Spears has finally made her mark on the world of fashion. No, the always-elegant singer hasn't begun marketing a line of invisible undergarments, but she is the catalyst behind an important online hosiery auction -- one in which some "lucky" bidder will abscond with a sock imprinted with a tire tread mark left when Ms.Spears ran over the foot of a paparazzo who was chasing her around the parking lot of a Los Angeles medical building.

The photog has placed his tootsie-cover up for grabs on eBay -- promising to donate whatever he earns to the Children's Defense Fund -- with the promise that "[This is] the actual sock worn by a TMZ cameraman Thursday when Brit drove over his foot. Tire tread guaranteed authentic!" We'll commend the shutterbug in question for his charitable spirit, but we'd still suggest levying a little extra fine to punish him for wearing socks with sandals -- a serious felony in our book.
