The DL: Pandora vs. Spinner Staff

If you're like us here at The DL, then you need new music to keep yourself sane. Music services like Pandora.com can give you a playlist based on a song you like, thus giving you more time to organize your troll doll collection. But are we better off consulting a real, live music lover, or should we just move past the need for human contact altogether? To answer this, we decided to see who really knows music -- a cold, heartless machine, or us cold, heartless DL peeps. Game on bitches!

hi Mike, Matt and Kate -

Really enjoyed your video here. Thanks for taking the time to do this... and kudos to you for being so open and honest about the results. While I think Pandora has developed a good way of creating playlists, we also think the narrative/editorial voice of DJs is a really integral part of listening... something we definitely lack. Perhaps one day there will be a way to combine the two approaches into the mother of all personalized radio stations... :)
