Manchester Orchestra Bring Rock Fury to the Interface
- Posted on Nov 2nd 2007 1:00PM by Mike Spinella
Manchester Orchestra are neither from Manchester, nor are they an orchestra. Discuss. The Atlanta post-hardcore rockers recently brought their pulverizing blend of emo to our New York studio, performing four songs from their acclaimed album, 'I'm Like a Virgin Losing a Child.' Frontman Andy Hull sat down to talk with Spinner, and was quick to discard the "Christian" label despite what their lyrics suggest. "It was not a conscience decision," Hull, who was raised in a religious environment, said of the lyrical content. "It was just what I was going through at the time. Any band that would call themselves a Christian band are probably terrible."

December 29 2007 at 1:45 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyMO's CD literally changed my life and got me through a really rough time. Watching them live is like no other experience either, they are even more intense on stage. Anyone who passes up this CD is completely insane and needs to re-evaluate their musical tastes.

December 15 2007 at 6:23 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyManchester Orchestra is the greatest live band you will ever see. They bring such an energy to the crowd with songs like 'Now That You're Home' and such emotion with 'Where Have You Been?' and 'Sleeper 1972'. Be sure you don't miss them, they are amazing.

The performance here does not give their live performance justice. Go to a show and see for yourself. ;)
MO is an excellent band. Their album is one of the best albums I have heard recently, and the fact that it comes from such a young band makes me feel positive that they will go very very far in the future.
It's so refreshing to hear a band of their caliber amongst all the generic music out there right now. I highly recommend everybody to listen to them.
