Moving into day five of the Daptone Records remix series, we've cued up funky New York boogaloo outfit the Sugarman Three. Fronted by Neal Sugarman, the band churns out JBs-style-funky jams that sound like they're straight out of 1973. Los Angeles' Afrodisiac Soundsystem jumped at the opportunity to rework Sugarman Three's 'Take It as It Come' into a breakbeat-laden, dancefloor-ready funk number.Keep reading to download the track and read an exclusive Q&A with Afrodisiac Soundsystem.

Exclusive Q&A with Afrodisiac Soundsystem
If you had to pick one 45 out of the Daptone vault, which one would it be and why?
Anything with Todd Simon on it 'cause he plays a golden horn.
What was the most exciting element of working with the Daptone sound, and what sets Daptone apart from many other indie labels?
Their loyalty to their approach and sound runs deep and is very inspiring. They understand their roots while reaching for new ground. They are an island of analog in a digital world. They know that digital is borne of convenience and capitalism and the desire to control, but control is had at the expense of aesthetics when sound is sacrificed to sight. They search for groove off the grid. They know that Xeroxed notes don't really exist and you have to play every one.
