Los Angeles, 1974: The next one is Jackson Browne and the Chevy, and it says, "Late for the Sky," lettered on the window by one of those Chicano artists that letter on the low riders, it's a '52, I believe. Glenn Frey had actually bought this car and given it to Jackson Browne. Jackson Browne had given it to some girlfriend, and we had borrowed it back and my partner Gary had the lettering put on there to take pictures for an album cover. There are some pictures where the girl who now owns the car was laying in the backseat and you could see her toes sticking up on that window that said, "Late for the Sky." It never did get used for 'Late for the Sky.'

As a journalist who has written often about battered women, I don't believe the "non-incident" regarding Hannah qualifies, based on evidence at this site:

    http://home.comcast.net/~leslienoelani/TNI.html

    Or this one:

I saw Jackson Browne at an awards show last year, and at the time I thought he seemed like a person who looked like I wouldn't want to get on his bad side. The lo and behold I find out about the so-called non-incident, plus now Joni Mitchell was nearly driven to suicide because of him...and his first wife killed herself and he allegedly hit her too if Joni's song "Not To Blame" off her Turbulent Indigo album is to believe. I used to like his music, but now that I know he is an abuser of women, I have no respect for him anymore as a songwriter OR as a person...any more than I would for Ike Turner.

He may be good with music, but he's an awful man. He is a woman beater, and you can't get any lower than that, can you??? He beat the sh*t out of Daryl Hannah, the actress, for years b4 she ended it. There was a magazine article about her one month, and there were pics of Daryl Hannah in there, and there were bruises all over her, and she admitted they were from her now ex! Thanks goodness she got away from that monster!
