Most Killer Songs: No. 1
- Posted by Spinner

'Delia's Gone'
--Johnny Cash (1962)
Weapon: Submachine gun
Gory Details: If you thought Cash shooting that man in Reno was ruthless, he gets truly sadistic as he preys on his "cold and mean" wife. He shoots her once to watch her suffer, then again to watch her die. But he pays the price in more ways than one as he's haunted by the pitter-patter of Delia's feet while serving his jail sentence.

Most hip hop songs glamourize homocide. Ever listen to Nas, Biggie, Jay-Z, Lil Wayne, T.I.? I'm not bashing hip hop, I love it, and maybe those cats never even really killed anybody and they just use it as an gimic to sell records. I'm just saying people will give your their money to be entertained by violence, and most hip hop songs are way worse than any of these songs.

Since there seems to be no time limit on this 'killer song list' then I would induct the old folk tune, "Tom Duley" as done by the Kingstong Trio:
"Hang down your head Tom Duley,
Hand down your head and cry.
Hang down your head Tom Duley,
Oh boy you're bound to die...
"I met her at the river,
and there I took her life.
I met her at the river
(And) Stabbed her with my knife."
Many old folk songs, including originally from England, have macabre story lines, like "Hang Man" as sung by Led Zeppelin. Very old song. Still very chilling, too.
I'm glad to see that someone else mentioned Blue October's "The End." It's a song that's so violent/creepy that it was left off later copies of the album (Approaching Normal). Blue October's "She's My Ride Home" is another good one. However, I'm not too surprised this band was overlooked, they aren't mainstream enough.

Hey Joe
Tom Dooley
Jeremy ....Pearl Jam
Country death song....Violent Femmes( now that's one twisted song)
And how is it possible that not one Ozzy song made it on the list??
"Me and my Uncle" by the Grateful Dead should have been on this list.
