Amazingly, as much as Johnny Cash sang of prisons and such, he NEVER spent one minute in jail or any type of penial institution. Luck of the draw? Maybe.
To me, in the entertainment business, there are only three that are "IT"!Johnny Cash, John Wayne and Elvis. This is much a sadder place without these three. Oh, there are numerous more, with of course Hank Williams following a very close number four!

I've never understood this song. Why is he in prison in California for a murder he committed in Nevada? If he said "I shot a man in Fresno just to watch him die" it would make a lot more sense.
