'Folsom Prison Blues'
--Johnny Cash (1957)
Weapon: A pissed pistol
Gory Details: Cash's character shoots a man in cold blood -- "I shot a man in Reno/Just to watch him die," -- but as he laments in jail, he shows his underlying remorse: "When I hear that whistle blowin'/I hang my head and cry." To me, in the entertainment business, there are only three that are "IT"!Johnny Cash, John Wayne and Elvis. This is much a sadder place without these three. Oh, there are numerous more, with of course Hank Williams following a very close number four!
come on spinner that post wasn't bad or are you just slow tonight

September 22 2008 at 2:46 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyIf he shot a man in Reno (Nevada) . . . what is he doing in a California State Prison? I have always wondered that.

I love you!
R.I.P.
I've never understood this song. Why is he in prison in California for a murder he committed in Nevada? If he said "I shot a man in Fresno just to watch him die" it would make a lot more sense.
