Butch Walker Loses Home in Malibu Fires

Producer and recording artist Butch Walker has fallen victim to the Malibu wildfires. Although it was reported that Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea lost his home in the disaster, it was Walker who was living in the four-bedroom compound, which he rented from the musician. Walker's house was evacuated by a family friend on November 24. He was in New York at the time.

"I had just consolidated my entire recording studio and house from Atlanta into the one house in Malibu," Walker said in a press release. "I lost everything I've ever owned. Every master of every song I've ever recorded, every piece of recording equipment, guitars, drums and things I've collected over the years, cars, motorcycles, every family memorial, heirloom, picture, and document we ever had ... gone. I feel like I finally know the difference between 'going back' and 'going home'."

Walker has recorded three full-length solo albums, and written and produced hit songs for Avril Lavigne, Bowling for Soup, Pink and Fall Out Boy.
