Shooter Jennings, Drea de Matteo Welcome Baby Alabama

Shooter Jennings and longtime girlfriend Drea de Matteo welcomed a baby girl Wednesday. Alabama Gypsyrose Jennings weighed in at 8 pounds, 3 ounces, and both mom and daughter are said to be doing great. This is the first child for the country-rocker and 'Sopranos' actress, who have been dating since 2003, when they were introduced by mutual pal Vince Vaughn. Jennings, son of the late country legend Waylon Jennings, will take a break from touring to stay home with his new family addition.

If any of you knew Shooter Jennings, you would know it's not his real name. He was named after his father Waylon-that's his real name. And the guy's not a retard, I've met him in person-totally nice guy and very down to earth. You all should not be so judgemental. It's a bad quality in a person.

Today kids don't want boring names like Debi, Linda, and Mary. How 50's and boring. Show some imagination and verve. The baby's name is cute and creative. And yes, she could go by Bama and pal around with Steve Erwin's daughter Bindi. Bama and Bindi could have a ball blending bunches of banana smoothies in the blender.

Alabama Gypsy Rose is not that unusual of a name. My son had a girl he knew whose name was Indiana, and she went by Indy. It was cute. I agree she'll probably end up going by Ally or Alie--not an unusual name at all considering some of the truly awful names out there like Quinteesha, as one writer mentioned. Leave the couple alone. It's their business what they name their baby.
