Rocker Spies on Private Eye

The adage that life often imitates art is true, but a little too non-specific for us -- which is why we're happy to have found a situation in which life has imitated a Hall and Oates song. That's pretty much what happened last week when a private eye retained by Chris Cornell's ex-wife got into hot water for breaking into the singer's home to ferret out personal information, not knowing that Cornell had his own way of watching his every move -- via a hidden security camera.

The private dick, who was brazen enough to use Cornell's bathroom during the caper, was there to serve him with papers stating that ex Susan Silver was suing him for custody of 15 guitars he'd acquired during their relationship and allegedly bequeathed to her in a property settlement. Matthew Turner is now facing charges of aggravated trespassing, an offense that could put him in touch with a 'Maneater' or two should a conviction yield him some prison time.
