How in the world is "Christmas" offensive to other religions? Christmas is what Christians celebrate. If you don't care to celebrate it for whatever reasons, go right ahead.
What's next? Is Hanukkah offensive to Christianity or other religions just because it's Jewish? I don't think so!!
It amazes me how liberals tell everybody to be tolerant of everything (good, bad, or otherwise), yet they themselves have no room to be tolerant toward things they do not agree with or understand?
As for the list of songs, mike pretty well sums it up in his list.

This is an awesome song!!!

"xmas" is the same as "Christmas." In early years, when the Christians were persecuted, "x" was one of the symbols they used for "Christ." My theology teacher did it for shorthand all the time. "x" is definitely not for "unknown."
As for getting rid of religion, just try. Stalin tried it, Lenin tried it, Mao Tse Ting [sp?] tried it. Khmer Rouge tried it. The only thing you get is more converts in the long run. And talk about rotten apples! But I suppose that you're just a little kid who hasn't a clue as to who or what I'm talking about. Go look up "Khmer Rouge" in the papers. It is estimated that more people died under absolutist regimes in the 20th century than were killed in religious wars in all times.
Anyhow, it's my holiday. We say "Have a Blessed Seder," and "Happy Hanukah" and even "Happy Easter," so why can't we say "Merry Christmas." It's a beautiful greeting or farewell. If you're the type to get offended by it, you are a serious nut. Take the greeting in the way it's being given to you and don't be so blinking paranoid.
Mary
PS You forgot the most beautiful and glorious carol of all: "O, Come All Ye Faithful." Otherwise it's a pretty good list.

I can't believe that in the 12 top songs NONE of them have anything to do with real Christmas - you know? The birth of Jesus Christ. JOY TO THE WORLD should be number ONE.

i would have thought THIS piece of Garbage would have fronted your WORST list!

This is among my top three Christmas songs...and how timely!
farfallealfredoat 12-25-2008
THIS is #2? You've GOT to be kidding! This should have been on the worst list. There's nothing at all Christmas about it.

puke city all the way how could anyone with half a brain like this song?
ktnzgtklwsat 12-26-2008
UGH. I hate this song with a passion. Then again, anything by the beatles is usually so dripping with pretention and artsy-fartsy better than thou, beat you over the head with a two by four message that it makes me want to gag.

How can it be that the world is changing so much? LEts hope is for the better. I like this song. i think should be number 1. maybe this song help on something to change for the better in some people dont you think? maybe is still changing people. and not just about war, but differences between us. i admire differences. otherwise we would be in a boring world, like the movie "The island". i like this song

Religion is just a word. We are religion. all our different thoughts and views are religion. we can take religion out if we want. it depends on each individual. You dont need to go to a church or sinagoge to look for God. God is everywhere. You just have to look careful. Forget Stalin, Lenin and Mao.
I dont have religion in my life but I believe in God. One more thing. dont think my religion is so different from yours.
metgiant41at 12-27-2008
This is a great song and even though yoko nearly ruined it with her "singing". If it wasn't for her it should have been #1!!

Melissa Etheridge has a good version too.

"War is Over" as one of the best?? Listening to Yoko sing (if it can be called that) is like fingernails on a blackboard. I turn it off everytime it comes on.

This and Bowie/Crosby's little drummer boy are the ONLY christmas songs I like. Can we throw the rest in the dumpster? Burn them? Erase them all from memory? Please?
Jerryat 12-08-2007
It isn't a Christmas song. It's a pinko anit-war song pretending to be a Christmas song.
hmatt1982at 11-30-2008
Jerry,
yOU HAVE NO Idea what ypu are talkimg about. You sound like pinko trash from the Ozarks. You probably voted for Mccain, are against gay marriage, suport the NRA and the kkk as well. Get over it! Us Liberals are taking over.
