This is the WORST song . The off key background vocals make me actually cringe. I can't believe they put this on the good list... and so high!

Elvis actually didn't want to record this song. He felt that Tubb's version, which had been released only a couple of years prior to his own, was so untouchable that he felt it unnecessary to cover it. When record executives insisted, Elvis took it upon himself to create the worst possible rendition he could muster... hence the backing vocals that as one user put it, sound like cats in a sack. Ironically, it became one of the biggest Christmas hits of all time.
